Deionized water, also known as demineralized water / DM water[2] (DI water, DIW or de-ionized water), is water that has had almost all of its mineral ions removed, such as cations like sodium, calcium, iron, and copper, and anions such as chloride and sulfate. Deionization is a chemical process that uses specially manufactured ion-exchange resins which exchange hydrogen ion and hydroxide ion for dissolved minerals, which then recombine to form water. Because most non-particulate, water impurities are dissolved salts, deionization produces a high purity water that is generally similar to distilled water, and this process is quick and without scale buildup.

Approximately 40% of all surface waters and virtually all the groundwaters in South Africa have a low pH, low alkalinity and low calcium. This makes the water aggressive to concrete and corrosive to metals, so it attacks pipes, conduits and reservoirs – with costly consequences. P&B Aquastab^TM, an inexpensive limestone product, neutralises both water and acid wastes, so it curbs corrosion. It also removes manganese, fluorides, iron and other impurities from water.

Empty In-Line Housing with 1/4" Female Threads.

Can be filled and refilled with any filter media, mixed bed resin, carbon granules, mineral stones, etc...

Uses a rubber o-ring seal. Includes 2 sponges.

Not recommended where pressure may exceed 4 bars without using a pressure reducing valve.
