Important Information

1.         Any specific application must be limited within the extreme operating conditions. We strongly recommend you to refer to the latest edition of technology manual and design guide prepared by Vontron Technology Co., Ltd., or consult experts proficient in membrane technology. In case the customer fails to follow the operating conditions as specified in this manual, Vontron technology Co., Ltd. will assume no liability for all results.

2.         The permeate flow listed in the table is the average value. The permeate flow of single membrane element is within a tolerance not exceeding ±20% of the nominal value.

3.        All wet-type membrane elements have been strictly tested before leaving the factory, and have been treated with the solution of 1.0% sodium hydrogen sulfite (an antifreeze solution of 10% propanediol required in winter) for storage purpose, then sealed with plastic bag in vacuum, and further packed in carton boxes. In order to prevent the breeding of microbes during short-time storage, transportation and system standby, we recommend you to soak the membrane elements with protective solution (prepared with RO filtered water) containing 1.0% sodium hydrogen sulfite (foodstuff-purpose).

4.       Discard the RO-filtered water produced during the first one hour after system start-up.

5.        During storage time and run time, it is strictly prohibited to dose any chemical medicament that may be harmful.

Brief Introduction

ULP series of ultra-low pressure aromatic polyamide compound membrane element newly developed by Vontron Technology Co. Ltd.

Membrane can operate under ultra low pressure to reach as high permeate flow and salt rejection as regular low-pressure membrane element can and is applicable to desalination of surface water and underground water.

It operates under approximately 2 thirds of the operating pressure of regular low-pressure composite membranes, and achieves a salt rejection rate of up to 99.5%, which can decrease the investment costs for relevant facilities such as pumps, piping and the operating cost for the RO system, thus increasing the economic efficiency.

Being suitable for the desalting treatment of those water sources with salt concentration lower than 2000 ppm, such as surface water, underground water, tap water and municipal water, etc., ULP series membrane elements are mainly applicable to numerous applications of various scales, such as pure water, boiler water replenishment, foodstuff processing, and pharmaceutical production, etc.

Reverse Osmosis System 400GPD
Reverse Osmosis System 400GPD 1500LPD (RO400GPD)
Reverse Osmosis is a process where water is demineralised using a semi permeable membrane at high pressure. Your normal filtration units will only reduce certain contaminants such as silt, rust, chlorine and bacteria (up to 96%). Reverse Osmosis machines will purify your water up to 99.9% or 0.001 microns, thus removing other dissolved contaminants like Colloid, lead, mercury, germs and other metals.

Stage 1 : Polypropylene Cartridge – 5 Micron Superfine Filter – Removes solid particles & impurities i.e. silt & rust.
Stage 2 : Granular Activated Carbon (UDF) Filter – Absorbs odours, chemicals & chlorine.
Stage 3 : Carbon Block Filter (CTO) – removes additional chlorine & water decolourants.
Stage 4 : Reverse Osmoses Membranes – Removes up to 0.0001 microns colloid, metals, germs & bacteria.
Stage 5 : Post Carbon Filter (T33) – improves water taste.

If your water pressure is above 6 bar you will need a pressure reducing valve to keep your pressure within the operating pressure limits.

  • This unit produces up to 400 Gallons or 1500 litres every 24 hours.
  • This unit has two pumps, an electrical outlet is required nearby.
  • This unit has four VONTRON 100GPD membranes.
  • This unit includes a 40LT RO Storage Tank and a Standard Elegant RO Faucet (not shown in picture).
  • This unit can be modified with a float switch to fill up larger tanks, such as JoJo Tanks, as seen in this photo.

We recommend that a plumber install the unit as a pressure reducing valve may be required.

You can replace the 100GPD membranes with 125GPD membranes to get up to 500GPD/1900LPD from this unit.

Automatic Shutoff Block for RO
Automatic Shut Off Block for Reverse Osmosis (RO-ASOV)
Available in 1/4" with quick connect and 3/8" with compression nuts (see pictures).

Automatically shuts off the water supply when the tank pressure (or permeate pressure) reaches ~65% of the incoming line pressure.

Without a shut-off block (or solenoid in case of RO with pump) the RO would be wasting water permanently even when the tank is full.
Shuts off water supply when RO tank full.
